On October 2, 2020, the state Tariff Commission of Pakistan issued the latest announcement of case No. 33 / 2015 / NTC / PSF / SSR & CCR / 2020, in response to the sunset review application submitted by Pakistan's domestic enterprises ICI Pakistan Limited and Ibrahim fibers limited on August 17, 2020, and Chinese enterprise Jiangyin hailun Chemical Fiber Co, Limited) decided to launch the first anti-dumping sunset merger situation change review investigation on polyester staple fiber (polyester staple fiber) originating in or imported from China. The products involved do not include polyester staple fiber of more than 2.0 denier, colored polyester staple fiber and recycled polyester staple fiber. The Pakistan tax number of the products involved was 5503.2010. The dumping investigation period of this case is from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020, and the injury investigation period is from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020. During the period of the investigation, the anti-dumping measures shall remain in force. The final decision of this case is expected to be made within 12 months from the date of the announcement.

On April 24, 2015, Pakistan launched an anti-dumping investigation on polyester staple fiber originated from or imported from China. On October 3, 2015, Pakistan began to impose anti-dumping duties of 2.82% - 11.51% on Chinese products involved in the case, with a validity period of five years.
