Italy: masks will no longer be imported since September
According to EURONET, Italy's emergency Commissioner for the new crown said on May 27 that since September, Italy's production capacity of protective equipment can fully meet the needs of the domestic market and basically achieve self-sufficiency.
Since the outbreak of the new crown, 135 Italian enterprises have transformed to produce medical protective equipment and supplies, and the Italian government will continue to promote the social production capacity of medical protective equipment. Recently, the Italian national medical institution has reached an agreement with two large enterprises. By the end of June, the two enterprises will provide 31 million medical surgical masks every day. It is believed that by September at the latest, masks will no longer rely on foreign imports.
Akuri stressed that so far, the National Health Department has reached an agreement with 19 enterprises in transition to produce protective equipment, and signed orders for more than 1.8 billion masks, with an average price of 0.42 euros per mask.
As early as April 25, Italy announced that the contradiction between the supply and demand of domestic medical protection products and equipment has been basically eased. The government will lift the ban on the export of relevant medical protection products and materials, regulate the marketing behavior of medical protection products such as masks, and set the price of commodity market protection.
Russia: lifting export ban on masks and personal protective articles
On March 2, due to the development of the epidemic situation, Russia began to restrict the export of personal protective equipment, and prohibited the export of medical products, including medical masks, gauze, medical cotton, chemical protective clothing, medical gloves, gas masks, shoe covers and disinfectants, which is valid until June 1.
On May 3 local time, the Russian government lifted the export ban on masks and personal protective equipment, and relevant documents have been released on the official website of legal information. The document declared that the previously issued temporary ban on the export of specific materials from the Russian Federation from March 2 and the amendment to the ban on April 2 were invalid. The document shall come into force on the date of issue.
Us: filing a lawsuit against a Chinese company
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on May 7 local time that it had revoked the license of about 60 Chinese manufacturers to sell N95 masks in the United States, because the masks produced by these manufacturers could not provide enough protection against the new coronavirus. According to the FDA, tests have found that the filtration efficiency of some masks does not meet the minimum 95% standard.
As of June 7, the latest number of Chinese mask manufacturers licensed by FDA was 31.
On June 5, U.S. New Jersey District federal prosecutor capenito and New York Eastern District federal prosecutor Donohue formally sued a Chinese packaging and Printing Co., Ltd. to produce and export nearly 500000 fake N95 masks to the United States during the new crown virus epidemic, and falsely claimed that these masks meet the standards of N95 masks, thus violating the federal food, drug and Cosmetics Act of the United States Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act)。
According to the lawsuit filed by the federal prosecutor's office in the federal court of Brooklyn, New York on April 6-21, the company produced 495200 inferior N95 masks, which were labeled with the certification of NIOSH and FDA and exported to the United States. In order to cover up the poor quality of the product, the company submitted a false registration statement to the US Food and drug administration.
The company faces three charges of violating the federal food, drug and Cosmetics Act. If the charges are established, a maximum fine of $500000 may be imposed on each charge.
Canada: blacklist dozens of Chinese mask manufacturers
On May 10, Canada's Federal Ministry of Health issued a warning to kn95 masks produced by dozens of Companies in China. Recent tests by the National Institute for occupational safety and health found that some kn95 masks "failed to meet the filter standard to prevent 95% micro particles".
On May 11, Health Canada continued to update the kn95 problem masks, saying that importers and distributors who may have imported masks that do not meet the performance standards have been required to notify their customers and relabel them to show that they can still be used as masks, even though they may not meet the standards required by front-line medical staff. The masks are not banned from the market.
The Canadian side suggested that the health departments and medical institutions of all provinces should immediately review the list to ensure that the masks meet the standards; the ordinary people can still use these masks in non-medical occasions; and the public should report any adverse events of health products to the health department of Canada.

Iran: banning the import of medical supplies that can be produced domestically
Iran's ifpnews reported on May 13 that in order to support and encourage domestic production, the Ministry of industry, mining and trade refused to approve the import of medical supplies that can be produced in China, while the domestic N95 masks, protective clothing and coronavirus detection kits have been approved for unrestricted export to support domestic manufacturers and meet the needs of foreign anti epidemic.
The acting minister pointed out that the supply of the three products has exceeded the demand in Iran, which has become the export center of medical materials related to the new coronavirus.
In addition, the Ministry of industry, mining and trade, the Ministry of health and the Drug Administration jointly approved the export of domestic respirators, life monitors and household oxygen saturation monitors, with the export quota being half of the output.
