On May 6, 2020, the General Administration of market supervision (the Standards Committee) officially issued the recommended national standard (hereinafter referred to as the code) of GB / T 38880-2020 technical specifications for child masks, which will be implemented as soon as it is issued. The code is applicable to the masks worn by children aged 6 and above to 14 and below. According to the performance, children's masks are divided into child protective masks and child health masks.

The indicators in the code are mainly based on three aspects of protection performance, wearing comfort and safety. The code provides basis for correct selection and wearing of children's masks, standardizing the order of industry competition, strengthening market supervision, and providing technical support and standard guarantee for children's mask manufacturers.

As the core filter layer of mask, melt blown nonwovens have the characteristics of fine fiber, small aperture, large specific surface area and high porosity, so they have certain air permeability and excellent filtering function. The key technology of producing high efficiency and low resistance melt blown filter material mainly includes three aspects.

The first is the micro nano technology of melt blown fiber diameter. By improving the structure design of spinneret and selecting high melt finger polymer slice, the diameter of melt blown material is reduced and the filtration efficiency is improved. For example, for some advanced spinnerets, the minimum diameter of spinneret hole can be 0.10 mm, the hole density is more than 100 holes / inch, the length diameter ratio of spinneret hole can be more than 35, and the melt pressure can be up to 10.4 MPa, which is conducive to the ultra-fine production of melt blown fiber.

Second, electret processing technology. In the industrial production of melt blown filter material, electret technology is particularly important. Electret treatment can significantly improve the filtration efficiency without affecting the physical structure of the material and increasing the filtration resistance. There are many kinds of electret technology in China, corona electret technology is the most common, in addition to water electret technology and hot air flow electret technology. At a certain temperature and humidity, the corona electret can move the charge from the shallow well to the deep well, which makes the charge storage more stable; temperature affects the charge mobility and the amount of charge stored in the material. At present, the corona electret melt blown nonwovens filter material is used, the filter resistance can be lower than 90pa, and the filter efficiency can be higher than 99%.

Third, polymer modification technology. By modifying the resin with inorganic / organic materials, the effect of electret can be enhanced, and the time effect of filtration performance can be improved. By adopting the technology of polymer modification and adding the energy increasing agent, the common technical problems of short storage time of melt blown nonwovens can be broken through, and the strategic reserve capacity of protective products in China can be greatly improved. Donghua University carried out the aging comparison experiment on the filter material (kn95 mask with surface density of 50g / m2) of the melt blown electret mask modified by the energy enhancer. The results showed that the filtration efficiency before storage was 99.4% (gas flow rate of 85L / min). After 8 years of sealed storage, the filtration efficiency measured in 2019 was 97.05%, and the filtration efficiency decreased by less than 3%. The electret effect was stable, which could fully meet the long-term battle of the protective mask Demand for a little reserve.

According to the specification, children's protective masks are required to filter more than 95% of the non oil particles at the flow rate of 85L / min, and the respiratory resistance at 45L / min is not higher than 45pa; children's sanitary masks are required to filter more than 90% of the non oil particles at the flow rate of 32L / min, filter more than 95% of the bacterial aerosols and ventilate less than 30p. Novel coronavirus pneumonia filter materials have been put forward by this index. The filter manufacturers need to have certain technical strength and production experience. During the new crown pneumonia epidemic, if the enterprises in the new melt blown industry need to produce filter materials for the national standard children's mask, we need to strengthen the research of professional theory, engineering technology, polymer performance, or carry out technical transformation of related equipment.
