Textile export growth slowed down in October, clothing export continued to pick up

According to the statistics of the General Administration of customs, from January to October this year, China's textile and clothing exports reached 240.63 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. In the first 10 months, China's textile exports reached US $129.61 billion, an increase of 31.9% over the same period of last year, while the export of clothing was US $111.02 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 8.6%.

In the fourth quarter, the contribution of masks as the main anti epidemic materials to the export of the industry showed a weakening trend, and the growth rate of national textile export slowed down compared with that before. In October, China's textile exports reached 11.66 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 15.9%, and a year-on-year increase of 12.1% in terms of RMB, a further decrease of 20% compared with the growth rate of last month. The export of clothing in the current month was 13.18 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year growth of 6.8%, and in terms of RMB, the year-on-year growth rate was 3.2%. The export growth rate continued to increase by 0.3 percentage points compared with the previous month, maintaining the positive growth trend for three consecutive months since August.
