In accordance with China's commitment to zero tariff treatment for 97% tariff products of the least developed countries, and according to the exchange of letters between China and the Lao People's Democratic Republic, from December 1, 2020, the preferential tax rate of zero will be applied to 97% of tariff products originated in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. 97% of the tax items are 5161 tax items marked as "beneficiary country LD" in the preferential tax rate column of "PRC import and export tariff (2020)" (notice of the Tax Commission [2019] No. 9), 2911 tax items of "beneficiary country 1ld1" and 184 tax items of "beneficiary country 2ld2", totaling 8256 tax items.
