On November 3, Dawud, the business investment adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, held a meeting to listen to the report on Pakistan's import and export.

Data show that in the first four months of fiscal year 2021 (July October 2021), Pakistan's export volume decreased by 0.1% to 7.54 billion US dollars, and the trade deficit decreased by 4.5% to 7.424 billion US dollars.

The export volume of high value-added products such as home textiles, clothing, cement and pharmaceuticals increased significantly year-on-year, while that of low value-added products such as cotton, leather and crude oil decreased. The main exporting countries are Indonesia, Qatar, Denmark, South Korea and Afghanistan.

Daoud appreciated the efforts made by Pakistani exporters in promoting exports, and said that Pakistan's overall market is still relatively unstable. He hoped that Pakistan's economy could maintain its upward momentum, and instructed relevant departments to continue to provide convenience for exporters.
