After the bleached and whitened yarns are placed for a certain period of time, the first is to produce macula, and the second is to decrease the whiteness with time.
The reason for this is that the quality of bleaching water is poor and the content of ferrous ions is high, ferrous ions are oxidized or ferrous ions are trivalent over time, thus forming a macula on the yarn. This kind of macula not only affects the appearance quality, but also makes the fibers brittle. The way to overcome this problem is to use oxalic acid 1.5-2.0g/L before yarn bleaching and acid washing at 80-85 ~C when the water quality is poor. Because oxalic acid can form complex ions with iron ions and dissolve in water, iron in water can be removed to achieve the purpose of not yellowing.
The main reason why the whiteness of bleached and whitened yarns decreases with time is inadequate scouring. If the yarn is not fully scoured and the impurities in cotton fibers are not completely removed, the yarn can be bleached and whitened immediately. Over a long period of time, the impurities and natural pigments in the fibers will be exposed, resulting in a decrease in whiteness. The way to overcome this problem is to ensure that the capillary effect of bleached yarn reaches 13-15cm/30min, and that the capillary effect is uniform, so as to ensure that the bleached and whitened yarn does not yellowish. In addition, when sodium hypochlorite is used to dechlorinate the yarn after bleaching, the excessive amount of baking soda or not being washed can also make the yarn yellowish. When yarn is dried, too high temperature in the drying room and too long drying time will cause yellowing of yarn.
