Machines from Switzerland, no matter where they are eventually produced, are used in factories sanctioned by the United States. According to the Lausanne newspaper Le Temps, in 2019, Lida Group of Switzerland sold 66 ring spinning G32 machines for cotton weaving to Huafu top dye melange yarn, a Chinese company. It is reported that the Swiss company Uster also sold equipment to Huafu, which was blacklisted in the United States in 2020.

Another company on the US blacklist, Yida group, headquartered in Hong Kong, has a cotton mill using USTER equipment in Xinjiang. Two mills, Xinjiang Changji Yida Textile Co., Ltd. and Turpan Yida Textile Co., Ltd., won the USTER quality mark in 2019.

Yida, which has been operating in Xinjiang since 1995, denied the allegations of forced labor and pointed out that the third-party audit found no evidence. The company said on its website that its Changji spinning factory is an "advanced and highly automated factory". Compared with the traditional spinning factory, which needs 150 employees to operate, it only needs 45 technicians. Some highly automated machines are from Rieter, Switzerland.

When asked for more information, Yida said that it did not provide information about its business relationship with individual customers.

According to Zhuolang's 2019 annual report, its Xinjiang factory participated in the local government's plan to increase the employment of ethnic minorities, and the new factory employed 95 ethnic minority employees.
