EU Textile And Apparel Imports Increase By 14% From January To November 2021

  In November 2021, the EU's textile and apparel imports totaled $16.909 billion. Among them, the total import of knitted garments was 9.329 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 33% and a month-on-month increase of 2%. The total import value of woven garments was US$7.579 billion, a year-on-year increase of 22% and a month-on-month decrease of 4%. Major EU knitting importers and their proportions: China (19%) Bangladesh (14%) Germany (11%). Main importing countries and proportions of woven garments: China (19%) Germany (11%) Bangladesh (9%).

  From January to November 2021, the EU's total import of textiles and clothing was US$163.881 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14%. Among them, the total import of knitted garments was 85.482 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 20%. The total import of woven garments was 78.399 billion US dollars, an increase of 8% year-on-year. Major EU knitting importers and their proportions from January to November 2021: China (16%), Bangladesh (14%), Germany (11%), and major EU woven importers and their proportions from January to November 2021: China (19 %) Germany (11%) Bangladesh (9%).

  It can be clearly seen that the demand for knitted clothing in EU countries is slightly better than that of woven clothing, due to its higher plasticity, better comfort and compliance with consumers' requirements for wearing during the epidemic. External factors will continue to rise steadily.
