First, exports to emerging markets are better than the whole.
Exports to emerging markets fell 2.9%, a better decline than the overall 1.9 percentage points, accounting for an increase of 0.9 percentage points to 49.7%. Among them, exports to ASEAN increased by 2.8%, better than the overall growth of 7.5 percentage points, accounting for an increase of 1 percentage point to 15.1%. Exports to traditional markets fell 6.5% to 50.3%.
Second, the export share of private enterprises has increased.
The export of private enterprises decreased slightly by 0.3%, which was better than the overall 4.4 percentage points, showing strong resilience and vitality, accounting for 2.4 percentage points to 52.9%. The export of state-owned enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises decreased by 8.4% and 9.4% respectively.
Third, the export of mechanical and electrical products is better than the whole.
The export of mechanical and electrical products decreased by 4.0%, less than 0.7% of the total, accounting for 61.1%. Among them, exports of integrated circuits and computers increased by 14.5% and 1.8%. Labor intensive products were greatly affected by the overseas epidemic, and the total export of clothing, bags, shoes, toys, furniture and other products fell by 20.3%. Epidemic prevention materials have become the highlight of export growth. Masks led the growth of textiles by 25.5%, medical devices and traditional Chinese medicine by 33% and 8%.
Fourth, the export share of the central and western regions has increased.
The export of the central and western regions decreased by 0.2%, a better decline than the overall 4.5 percentage points, accounting for an increase of 0.8 percentage points to 18.4%. The export of the eastern region decreased by 5.7%, which was 1 percentage point deeper than that of the whole region, accounting for 81.6%.
Fifth, the import volume of major commodities increased and prices fell.
Commodity prices generally fell due to weak demand in the international market. The import prices of crude oil, natural gas, copper, coal and soybeans decreased by 21.2%, 14.7%, 6.3%, 4.7% and 1.7% respectively, and the import volume increased by 5.2%, 1.9%, 12.4%, 16.8% and 6.8% respectively. The fall in the prices of these commodities alone slowed down the growth rate of imports by three percentage points.
Since this year, in response to the impact of the epidemic on the development of China's foreign trade, the State Council has issued a series of policies and measures to stabilize foreign trade in a timely manner, mainly including improving export tax rebate policy, increasing foreign trade credit, increasing export credit insurance support, adding cross-border comprehensive test area, supporting export to domestic sales and other aspects.
