The Asian International Textile Machinery Fair 2018 and the Shanghai International Textile Machinery Fair of China were grandly opened on October 15, 2018. The exhibition is a grand gathering focusing on textile machinery in Asia. In this exhibition, spinning technology from Italy will continue to play an important role, presenting more innovative and sustainable new solutions.

From October 15 to October 19, more than 130 exhibitors from Italy jointly appeared at the 2018 Asian International Textile Machinery Fair and the Shanghai International Textile Machinery Fair in China. Among them, 63 Italian manufacturing enterprises will present their latest scientific and technological achievements in the exhibition, organized by the Italian Textile Machinery Association (ACIMIT) and the Italian Foreign Trade Commission (ICE-Agency). In this exhibition, Italian enterprises occupy about 6,300 square meters of exhibition area, making it the core exhibition country of this exhibition.

Asia and China are key markets for Italian textile machinery manufacturers overseas. In the first half of 2018, 46% of Italian textile machinery products were exported to the Asian market, compared with 37% and 12% in Europe and the Americas, respectively. In addition, the Chinese market is also the main destination of Italian exports, accounting for 16% of total exports. In the first six months of 2018, Italy's exports totaled 156 million (down 8% from the first half of 2017). Other major exporters of Italian textile machinery manufacturers in Asia include India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Mr. Alessandro Zucchi, Chairman of the Italian Textile Machinery Association, stressed that although the demand for overseas textile machines by domestic textile enterprises slowed down in the first half of the year, the overall prospects for the Chinese market remain bright. In this exhibition, many Italian textile machinery manufacturers also showed their confidence in the Chinese market in Shanghai. As far as the number of exhibitors is concerned, Italy ranks first in the number of overseas exhibitors.
China's market demand for textile machinery is mainly concentrated in high-tech products, through science and technology to achieve cost optimization and environmental sustainable development. China's textile industry has a strong interest in innovative solutions, which often respond quickly to market demand; for example, fast delivery time and real-time production. Mr Zucchi concluded: "I believe that in order to enhance the global competitiveness of Chinese textile enterprises, like other countries, Chinese enterprises must focus on the digitalization of production processes and add sustainability to the adoption of technical solutions."
Mr. Massimiliano Tremiterra, chief representative of the Shanghai Representative Office of the Italian Foreign Trade Commission, said that Italy has a large number of high-tech and environment-friendly manufacturing enterprises, which play an important role in the global textile machinery industry. Italy's high-quality textile machinery will promote the quality of China's textile industry and enhance environmental protection. China is currently implementing energy conservation and reduction
The emission policy has launched a series of new measures on low-carbon economy, low energy consumption and low pollution, which are the only way for future economic development. For this reason, I believe that the environmentally friendly technology of Italian textile products coincides with China's national policy. In the east, China has three major textile and clothing provinces, namely Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian. Together with Guangdong and Shandong, these provinces make up 80% of the industry's output. Italy is still the main supplier of textile machinery in China, including washing machines, dyeing and printing machines, finishing machines, knitting machines, Lixin cloth machines, lace machines and other auxiliary machinery.
