Pakistan's textile and clothing exports rose more than 8% to US $8.76 billion in the first seven months of this fiscal year (July 2020 to January 2021), according to data released by Pakistan's Bureau of statistics on Wednesday. Among them, the export volume in January increased by 10.79% year-on-year to US $1.32 billion.
The Ministry of Commerce said that this achievement is due to a series of stimulus measures taken by the government in the past two years. The abolition of import tariffs on industrial raw materials, timely refund of export tax rebates, devaluation of rupee and lower interest rates have all accelerated industrial growth, especially export-oriented industries.
The government will continue to provide government support for the textile industry to promote its development.
