The Chinese government work report proposes to promote the development of the digital economy. Cluster development is a prominent feature of my country's textile industry, and this type of industrial cluster plays an important role in stabilizing growth and employment. Chen Lifen, deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman of Jiangsu Sunshine Co., Ltd., suggested that a new generation of information technology should be used to promote the transformation and upgrading of textile industry clusters to digital and intelligent, and to create a number of digital world-class textile industry clusters.
Representative Chen Lifen introduced that there are 210 textile industry clusters in the country, and the total number of enterprises in the industrial cluster areas exceeds 200,000, including 16,000 enterprises above designated size; the main business income of textile enterprises in the industrial cluster area accounts for more than 45%, the cluster economy has become an important part of the textile industry; the number of employees in the textile industry in the industrial cluster area exceeds 8 million.
The bottleneck of the digital development of traditional manufacturing industry lies in the lack of basic digital capabilities of enterprises, especially the large investment in digital transformation of equipment and networks, which restricts the digital transformation of enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. Representative Chen Lifen suggested that a national digital textile and apparel industry cluster innovation and development center should be established, and advantageous industrial clusters with different characteristics should be selected as the focus in the textile industry to create a digital transformation demonstration industrial cluster. At the same time, an institutional inclusive policy is formed to further stimulate the endogenous driving force of digital construction of enterprises.
