Vietnam's Silk Industry: Enhancing Brand Added Value And Developing Medium And High End Market

Seeking a balance between traditional and modern production methods, expanding production capacity while maintaining national craft characteristics, enhancing brand added value and opening up high-end market are becoming the direction of Vietnam's silk industry's active exploration and efforts.

The silk industry has a long history in Vietnam and occupies an important position in Vietnam's economy. Statistics from the world silk association show that Vietnam is currently one of the six largest silk producers in the world, with the export volume ranking third in Asia and sixth in the world.

Among the Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam's silk industry has laid a good production foundation by virtue of its long history of silk hometown, and its export volume of cooked silk exceeds that of Cambodia and Thailand.

The silk production in Baolu City, Lintong Province, Xiyuan region, Vietnam has realized large-scale mechanization, and the output and export volume occupy a dominant position in the Vietnamese market. With an annual output of about 1000 tons of silk and 3.5 million square meters of satin, the export volume of Baolu city reaches 16-18 million US dollars, accounting for about 80% of Vietnam's annual export volume.
