Vietnam's Textile And Garment Industry May Have A New Improvement in 2022

The novel coronavirus pneumonia situation in Vietnam and the world will ease in 2022, and the epidemic will be better controlled. At that time, the textile and garment industry will be improved.

Experts and textile industry enterprises predict that with the positive signals from the market and labor resources, Vietnam's textile and garment industry is expected to seize the opportunity and increase the export volume to US $40 billion.

Fan Chunhong, President of the Ho Chi Minh textile weaving and embroidery Association (agtek), said that in the last three months of 2021, there were sufficient orders and little change in labor resources, which were a positive signal for the recovery and development of textile and garment enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces and cities.

The representative of Yuesheng denim company revealed that the company resumed operation in early October and is trying to export 1.2 million products to eight European countries. At present, the clothing products of Yuesheng denim company have been airlifted to Europe and put on shelves in supermarkets and stores in Europe for sale during Christmas and new year. The company's orders have been scheduled to June 2022.

Vietnam textile and Garment Group (VINATEX) predicts that despite many uncertainties, with the economic recovery, the import volume of textiles and clothing in large markets such as the United States, the European Union, Japan, South Korea and China will return to the level before the outbreak of the epidemic (2019).

VINATEX proposed three scenarios for Vietnam's textile and garment exports in 2022. The first scenario is that from the third quarter of 2021 to the first quarter of 2022, more than 80% of the labor force will return to their posts, and the export target is set at $40 billion, exceeding the performance in 2019 ($39 billion).

In the second scenario, from the third quarter of 2021 to the first quarter of 2022, 70% of the labor force will return to work. In the following quarters, the labor force return rate will increase by 10% every quarter, and the export volume will only reach US $36 billion.

When forecasting the prospects for 2022, fan Chunhong said that in 2022, the epidemic situation in Vietnam and the world will be alleviated, the epidemic will be better controlled, and the market will pick up. In addition, at present, Vietnam's competitors do not have much advantages compared with Vietnam. Therefore, Vietnam's textile and garment industry should seize the opportunity to achieve recovery and development in 2022. It is hoped that after a period of "fatigue" due to the impact of the epidemic, all enterprises will work together to tap the growth potential of the world textile and garment market.
