Based on the investigation of export enterprises and the analysis of customs data, some European, American and Japanese brands avoid purchasing Xinjiang cotton and increase the procurement of textile and garment finished products from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other countries. The United States continued to maintain high growth from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan for three consecutive months. In September, the growth rate of textile and clothing imports from the three countries was 24.6%, 39.5% and 19.8% respectively.
The domestic textile industry of India, Pakistan and other countries is dominated by cotton spinning, and the basic chemical industry is underdeveloped. A large number of domestic polyester and viscose are imported from China. Thanks to the consumption recovery and inventory replenishment demand in the United States and Europe, the demand for intermediate products such as yarn and fabrics has increased significantly since October 2020. From January to October, China's yarn exports to Bangladesh, India and Pakistan were US $1.06 billion, US $920 million and US $770 million respectively, with an increase of 54.1%, 130.2% and 53.4% respectively.
