1. The overall prosperity of textile industry is stable

Since 2019, the overall prosperity index of the textile industry has declined, and enterprises still have strong confidence in the operation of the third quarter. According to the survey data of China Federation of textile industry, the prosperity index of textile industry in the second quarter of 2019 is 52.0, 3.0 points lower than that in the quarter of 2019, all above the 50 boom and bust line, indicating that the industry is still in the growth cycle. It is expected that the prosperity index of textile industry in the third quarter of 2019 will be 57.5, which is higher than that of this period, indicating that textile enterprises have increased confidence in the operation of the industry in the next quarter.

In the first half of 2019, the industrial added value of Enterprises above Designated Size in the textile industry increased by 3.6% year on year, 0.8 percentage points higher than the same period of last year, but 1.8 percentage points slower than the first quarter of 2019. In all links of the industrial chain, the industrial added value of the chemical fiber industry maintained a double-digit high-speed growth rate of 13%, 6.4 percentage points higher than that of the same period of last year; the industrial added value of the industrial textile industry increased steadily, 7.6% higher than that of the same period of last year.

Since 2019, the overall operation quality and efficiency have been good, and the growth rate of industry operation has picked up. From January to March 2019, the operating revenue of Enterprises above the scale of textile machinery industry has reached 22.982 billion yuan, an increase of 14.57% over the same period; the total assets have reached 102.501 billion yuan, an increase of 8.56% over the same period of 2018.

3. Industry profitability remains stable

Since 2019, the profitability of China's textile machinery industry has remained stable. From January to March 2019, the total profit of Enterprises above Designated Size in the textile machinery industry reached 1.401 billion yuan, an increase of 13.01% compared with the same period in 2018; the loss of loss making enterprises was 145 million yuan, a decrease of 24.05% compared with the same period in 2018; the loss area was 20.35%. From January to March 2019, the operating income profit margin of textile machinery industry is 6.10%, 0.10% lower than that of the same period in 2018.

4. The total volume of import and export increased steadily

Since 2015, the total import and export volume of China's textile machinery has increased steadily. According to customs statistics, from January to March 2019, China's total import and export of textile machinery totaled 1.721 billion US dollars, down 1.50% compared with the same period last year. Among them, the import of textile machinery is $819 million, down 4.69% compared with the same period of 2018; the export is $902 million, up 1.58% compared with the same period of 2018.

5. The import market maintains a high growth rate

With the industrial transfer and upgrading, driven by the growth of downstream demand, textile machinery has maintained a high import growth rate. From January to March 2019, textile machinery was imported from 58 countries and regions, with a total import volume of 819 million US dollars, down 4.69% compared with 2018. The main import countries and regions are Japan, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Taiwan. The top five import trade volume is 698 million US dollars, an increase of 1.83% compared with the same period in 2018, accounting for 85.25% of the total import.

In terms of categories of imported products, the import of auxiliary devices and spare parts ranked first in 2018, with a total import volume of 899 million US dollars, an increase of 7.73% compared with the same period in 2018, accounting for 24.16% of the total import volume; seven categories of products rose three times and fell four times; the growth of auxiliary devices and spare parts, chemical fiber machinery and weaving machinery were higher than the industry average.
