Jingwei Textile Machinery Factory, formerly known as Jingwei Textile machinery manufacturing company, was jointly organized by the old bank of communications of China, the industrial and mining adjustment Office of the Ministry of economy of the Kuomintang government and the gauze Administration Bureau in 1940. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the company closed the small iron factory in Chongqing, purchased 800 mu of land in Hangzhou, borrowed 1.5 million US dollars from the Bank of communications, ordered a batch of machine tools and equipment from the United States, and prepared to build a large-scale textile machinery factory. However, due to various reasons, it has not been realized. After liberation, the people's government took over the company and some imported machine tools that had already arrived in Qingdao. Another part of imported machine tools that had been transshipped to the Philippines was recovered through negotiation. Due to the continuous harassment and destruction of the coastal areas by the Kuomintang, Qian Zhiguang and others finally decided to move it to Yuci, Shanxi Province. The construction started in May 1951, and was completed and put into operation on August 1, 1954. The production scale reached an annual output of 500000 spindles, and the whole process spinning machine (except the cleaning machine), becoming the largest and most advanced textile machinery manufacturer in China at that time. The foundry workshop has basically realized mechanized continuous production in a series of processes from molding sand treatment to casting cleaning. In addition to the machine tools purchased from the original warp and weft mill in the United States, the machining workshop has also imported some machine tools from the Czech Republic, East Germany and the Soviet Union, including multi axis automatic lathe, semi-automatic lathe, multi axis milling machine and special equipment. At the same time, it is also equipped with relatively complete tools, machine repair, heat treatment and testing equipment.
